Cheers to the New Year!

What a crazy, busy holiday season it was with the silkie chick giveaway. I absolutely loved meeting all the new chicken owners as well as the seasoned ones. I even got the chance to meet up with a friend and her husband, Ally and Jay, who I haven't seen in a decade! It was definitely a great experience and maybe we will do it again next year? Let's see how this year goes first!

The totals for the giveaway were about 75 chicks which means we donated $750 back into the chicken community! That's big! I couldn't have done it without my daughter, Sophie, and dear friend and chicken partner in crime, Stephanie Saflin. There were several of ya'll that took advantage of the trip out to the 'farm' and bought from our older stock and we greatly appreciate each and every one. That feed bill can get a little out of hand at times! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Chocolate Mottle or split to mottle frizzled showgirl. What a mouthful for a beautiful baby!

Now that the new year is upon us we have a lot of exciting plans. We will be working on our second generation of Lemon cuckoo as well as the chocolate and black mottled. We will continue our 2 paint lines and of course the blacks and chocolates. Sometime in the upcoming month I will be breeding Moonpie to Manny and we will hopefully be graced with their beautiful calico cochin babies. I know someone who is waiting very patiently for them. Hahaha!

Manny the male nanny. He loves his babies! Calico Cochin

We will continue breeding the showgirls and strippers this spring and adding new colors to them. We were blessed with one very adorable blue showgirl on Christmas Eve. My neice has named and claimed her along with one little dom white baby. They are now called Moon and something else that I've completely forgotten. Sorry P!

Chunk and her roly poly black sibling are still growing by leaps and bounds. I'm still baffled as to who created those little fluff balls but determined to figure it out. They are not twice as big as their sibs, but definitely bigger.

Keep a look out for the babies that we will be releasing on our facebook page. I will be listing them as I come across the ones we won't need for the next season. It will include cost and any dq's that we've noticed.

Thank you all for the wonderful year and I can't wait to see what 2025 brings us!
